Meta has unveiled a new software update for its Quest platform, one with features that look to improve the user experience for both Quest 2 and Quest Pro headset owners. With v47, users are now able to exploit all of the extra horsepower in their Quest Pros, like mixed reality passthrough recording and controller support on the popular standard-edition headset. Along with these improvements there have been upgrades to media sync capabilities, an avatar mirror fit into certain home environments, universal menu customization allowing easier access friends’ multiplayer sessions (with shareable wishlists) and Meta’s own digital gift card system as well. As these updates roll out gradually, they’re sure to provide more scalable optimization down the line – something many VR fans can appreciate!
