It has been quite a year for VR games especially thanks to high-end games like Déraciné, Beat Saber and Skyrim VR that pushed the limits of what the current gen VR hardware could do. Though most VR games weren’t able to break into the mainstream, they did manage to make getting a Rift or Vive worthwhile. 2019 is unquestionably going to be yet another great year of VR games which is why we’re here to bring you the best upcoming VR games 2019 you should look forward to.
Lone Echo 2
S
The game is expected to carry on the story of Jack and Liv from the first game while bringing back the same feeling of zero-gravity movement as the first one who is without a doubt going to make it one of the best upcoming VR games 2019.
Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot
If you’re a fan of shooting Nazi’s in the face, then you’re going to have a blast with Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot. Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot promises to deliver the same intense and fluid combat the series is known for but in VR which is sure to make for a fun time. You’ll play as a hacker that will take control of Machines and use them to cut take down enemies in gorgeous environments.
Ace Combat 7
Air combat simulation games in VR are sparse, and while Ace Combat 7 might not be entirely in VR, it will support a wide variety of missions that are tailored specifically for VR. From the gameplay we’ve seen so far, the VR missions look fantastic with high-end graphics and responsive controls which could mean the release of many more air combat VR games down the line.
Stormland
Stormland is an upcoming VR game made by Insomniac Games and is expected to be an open-world robot shooter. Given the track record Insomniac has for making some incredible games, Stormland is already likely to be a big hit.
One of the highlights of the game besides the intense shooting is that to repair yourself you have to physically rip off the parts from your enemies and manually remove ammo clips from weapons for yourself. It offers several challenges and unique ways to get yourself physically involved in the movement, combat, and scavenging. It’s also expected to feature multiplayer for exploring and co-op gameplay.
