Upon its release in October 2021 on Quest, Unplugged quickly became a fan favourite with its innovative idea of creating an air guitar experience within virtual reality with no controllers. Now Playstation VR’s newest headset iteration- PSVR 2 has made the experience available to more gamers as it can be accessed through controller input. This adaptation incorporates gameplay principles from Guitar Hero and allows players to shred their hearts out using accessibility that lets them shift between colors using wrist movements. However, due to the lack at hand tracking in the new headset, this sadly is a feature missing on PSVR 2 Unplugged compared to its Quest version. Players will instead strum through their avatars hands and press buttons rather than pinching the strings with their fingers- reducing some of the initial magic created by Meta’s clever concept delivery when first released back in 2021 . Nevertheless, Unplugged is still an engaging game complete with fantastic visuals courtesy of extra power given by PSVR2 whilst maintaining backup support from classic rock songs bound to make any session exciting!
