There’s more speculation in this rumor than we’d normally like but the concept is so utterly cool that we can’t help but promote it.
In addition to an upcoming PlayStation 4 game, The Predator is also coming to VR according to Exophase which discovered PlayStation trophies related to the game.
That’s right – PlayStation trophies may have revealed one of the coolest VR game concepts to come around in quite a while.
Trophies include “Get to the choppa!” which involves escaping the jungle and “Sexual Tyrannosaurus” which involves clearing the jungle without dying.
There’s also a “Rampage mode” where you survive wave upon wave of enemies and a multiplayer mode where you can choose to play as a predator or as a human.
Push Square expects that an official announcement will be forthcoming and we’ll be sure to bring you news on that as soon as we get it.
Gamers who aren’t familiar with The Predator film series should know that it is a classic of 1980s action cinema in the United States. Starring The Terminator’s Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Predator is about a group of soldiers that have to survive an invisible, deadly threat while trying to make their way out of a jungle.
It’s a simple premise and it results in gory, fantastic action that straddles the line between horror and 1980s action cinema.
Basically, a VR game of this concept would be bonkers. It could also be incredibly fun, especially given virtual reality’s strengths when it comes to first-person shooters.
But, again, all of this is a rumor, even if most outlets are pretty sure it is going to happen.
