It is known as Ubisoft’s biggest VR title to date, Star Trek: Bridge Crew arrived in 2017 to worldwide for HTC Vive and PlayStation VR. Then several months ago the PlayStation VR received an update adding The Next Generation DLC, allowing players to play the universe of Picard and his crew. While PC fans have had to wait for this update, today the DLC expansion has now become available!

Star Trek: Bridge Crew The Next Generation isn’t just a makeover of the original game, with all the switches and buttons like the 90’s series. As the DLC update is paid for, fans will also get two new missions, Resistance and Patrol, plus improvements to the Ongoing Missions.

These new missions will see gamers come face to face with some of Star Trek’s most known races of aliens, long-term federation adversaries the Empire of Romulan will appear in Patrol, a mode allowing gamers to explore openly, encountering rivals and objectives as they go through. As for Resistance, the choice is in the name, going through the ever deadly Borg, will your resistance power really be futile? Pursued by a Borg cube, gamers need to complete objectives to prepare for a showdown.

Players who like the Engineering role will now find it replaced with several Operations. This role-plays tasks that particular player with crewmembers to different stations to activate functions like shield modulation and precision targeting, as well as conducting repairs to the systems.

With the new DLC update available for all formats it doesn’t require if you’re playing on PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, or in a non-VR as the title is fully cross-compatible.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew The Next Generation expansion is available now via the Oculus Store for $15, and should be available on Steam soon for the PC version. For any updates on this title, keep reading our website.
