Meta is set to release v49 of the Quest system software in anticipation of the holidays. The update includes a brand new home environment called ‘Abstraction’ that promises users a trip into the surreal and abstract. But just as exciting are updates to existing home environments such as Desert Terrace, Space Station and Winter Lodge – so be ready for some more hotspots and couches you can actually sit on.
Parents will also be able to take advantage of a brand new web page – Family Center – which provides an alternative method to managing Parental Supervision tools through their devices. This feature allows parents to help supervise teens while in VR via detailed educational resources alongside options like ‘Do Not Disturb’. Additionally, with this v49 update, parents and teens no longer need each other necessarily send out invites; instead, either can do it at any time! So make sure your Quest Headset is up-to-date for all these upcoming changes coming soon from Meta!
