Immersive language learning app Noun Town is now available for both Quest 2 and Quest Pro users at a price of $14.99, with PC VR release coming soon near December 15. Initially presented during their kickstarter campaign back in September 2021, the application helps people learn different languages like Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian and even Chinese by allowing interaction with items on an island-based map along side more than 1000 words!
The usage of virtual reality in this particular way helps make language learning more interactive due to it being set in an immersive environment where people can pick up objects while they hear the word related to said object. While this method might not be backed up by scientific evidence so far that doesn’t prevent it from looking promising as a great introductory step into building your own vocabulary. Certainly you won’t be able to learn entire languages but Noun Town looks all around exciting — we personally can’t wait to give it a try!
