No Man’s Sky has had one of the most storied roads to success of any game out there. Initially released to great disappointment, the team behind it has slowly pulled it together and transformed the game into the compelling concept they promised during their fundraiser.
And things are only going to get better from here because, starting August 15, No Man’s Sky is getting a VR update that should take the game to the next level for those of us that prefer to game via headset.
But that’s not all: If you don’t already own the game, the devs are trying to entice you to do just that with a discount that runs all month. So, if you’ve been on the fence about No Man’s Sky, it might be time to make that purchase decision while the price is low and the game is hot.
VR isn’t the only addition coming to No Man’s Sky, however, as the team behind the game are also launching bold new social and multiplayer initiatives that should transform the way the game plays in fundamental ways.
The new VR mode will be coming to both the Steam and PS4 versions of the game but, as the Xbox One does not have a VR headset, the game on that console will not need the VR update.
There’s also something else on the horizon though Hello Games won’t say what exactly. In addition to VR and social multiplayer options, the devs have teased yet another update for No Man’s Sky but have been mum on what it is. We guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Do you own No Man’s Sky? What do you think of the promise of VR? Will it get you back in the game?
