Today, nDreams announced that it has acquired long-term development partner Near Light. This marks the publisher’s first acquisition in nearly 16 years and is intended to deepen their relationship with each other. Co-founded by Paul Mottram and Ben Hebb in 2016, Near Light will join existing nDreams teams both remotely as well as offices in Farnborough and Brighton. The two companies have already collaborated on two VR games–Perfect and Shooty Fruity—with the latter going on to be published for arcades and Quest platforms too.
The move follows a $35 million investment made into nDreams last March—part of accelerating investments in third-party publishing meant to expand its reach. Additionally, they’re also working together on an unannounced VR game, though no other details are yet revealed at this time. It may very well join Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord upon PSVR 2’s launch later this year , but only time will tell for now!
