Cyan, the acclaimed studio behind some of the most iconic puzzle adventure games in gaming history has gone through several hurdles to finish off their newest VR-compatible title, Firmament. After an April 2019 Kickstarter campaign and a long period of delays that pushed its release date possibly to 2022, Cyan finally have set a confirmed launch date; March 18th this year. The game will be released for PC Oculus Rift & S headsets, HTC Vive and Valve Index but also meant to target PSVR 2, PS4 or PS5 later on.
The title is said to be “bigger than what a studio can usually produce” with “richer and more substantial story” compared to its initial plans. Fans should expect nothing less from the world renown developers who previously created Myst (1993) and Riven (1997). With no details so far about possible tech improvements due next gen consoles running alongside Firmament’s release time frame if it follows schedule after all this wait time , only one thing remains: stay tuned for some immersive virtual reality experience coming soon!
