Oculus Home had been the default home environment on PC for Oculus Rift, Rift S and Quest headset when using Link. Its highly-customizable options for decoration, furniture and interior design as well as collecting items granted by other PC VR apps or games has made it a beloved feature of many pc VR users. Unfortunately, Meta recently announced an update that seems to have ended support for Oculus Home on its Oculus App for PC VR headsets – removing access to these customization features and cutting off users from their existing homes environments.
Reports of another recent update to the desktop app lead users unable to access Oculus Home with no way of reinstating the feature anymore. Meta’s shift in focus towards their standalone Quest headsets may be partially responsible for ending this beloved pastime; while Horizon Home does not quite offer up the same level of personalization possibilities as before, Meta’s latest quest update includes some customizations like setting skyboxes outside predetermined environments -a hopefully signt hat more will come in future updates
