HTC has finally announced their new headset for the consumer market, the Vive XR Elite. The highly anticipated device stands out from its competitors with a compact design and an impressive set of features that offer significant upgrades over Quest Pro. It is powered by a Snapdragon XR2 chipset, enabling support for mixed reality via color passthrough at higher resolution and dynamic range than Quest Pro offers. The screen size is also larger with dual LCD displays each having 1920×1920 resolutions and 90Hz refresh rate — potentially up to 110-degree field of view! An adjustable IPD slider allows compatibility with users’ eyewear needs while the battery can be detached on your backrest to use it just like any other USB power source such as laptop seat or wall adapter. Moreover, this unique feature lets you stream Android phone apps right in VR! Vive XR Elite will be released sometime late February at $1100 pre-order now via HTC website – $400 less than Quest Pro but developers are working hard to embrace its potentials by offering popular titles such as Demeo, Unplugged, Green Hell VR and others in launch window so will it make a difference overall?
